As the pandemic continues, and Huntsville businesses continue to have to alter operations, small businesses need cash quickly. Facebook is providing this critical injection to help small local businesses who need it most. With a Facebook Data Center in Huntsville, Facebook is committed to communities in its footprint. Additionally, within Facebook’s overall SMB grant investment, Facebook is prioritizing 50% of grants to eligible veteran, minority and woman-owned businesses due to the disproportionate negative impact that COVID-19 has had on these businesses, their employees, and the communities that they serve.
This announcement is part of Facebook’s commitment to help small businesses around the world including the creation of the Business Resource Hub to help businesses cope with disruptions and keep their customers connected. Facebook has also introduced a place for users to purchase digital gift cards and create fundraisers for their favorite businesses. Additionally, Facebook has made it easier for businesses to communicate service changes like online services, delivery and pickup to their customers through a businesses’ Facebook Page.
