The Doors formed in Los Angeles in 1965, and to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the legendary psychedelic rock band, Rhino has a series of special releases to mark the occasion. The Doors 1967-1971 is a 6-LP limited edition (3,000 copies worldwide) box set released on November 22, which features all six of the band’s studio albums cut from the original master tapes. In addition, a 4-LP pressing of The Doors – Live in Detroit is set for release on Record Store Day Black Friday on November 29th. The live album was recorded at Cobo Arena in Detroit on May 8th, 1970, and this marks the first time this show has been released on vinyl.

Also on the way is Night Divides the Day, the first complete anthology book about The Doors, which is published by Genesis Publications. The 344-page book is limited to 2,000 copies and comes in a box set that’s signed by surviving Doors’ members John Densmore and Robby Krieger, and also includes a 7-inch vinyl record.
