During a panel held on Monday (October 21) at the Academy of Motion Pictures Museum for the Los Angeles premiere of the documentary, Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Bruce Springsteen opened up about what his personal life is like following the cancer diagnosis of his wife and bandmate, Patti Scialfa. In the documentary, the 71-year-old Scialfa publicly revealed she was diagnosed with the rare blood cancer multiple myeloma back in 2018. “Hey, you get up around our age, and those are the things you’re thinking about,” the 75-year-old Springsteen shared with the audience. “Patti and I have had to deal with her illness. It is a part of your life now, questions of mortality.” Springsteen also shared why he decided to make a documentary at this time. “Well, if we didn’t make it now, I’d be dead pretty soon. We got to make these while we can.” (People)
